Lawson’s journey from a standout high school player at Crest HS in Shelby, North Carolina, to a highly accomplished collegiate athlete at Campbell University, has now lead him to helping the younger generation achieve their goals!
His high school performance, including a .568 batting average and 7 home runs in his senior season, earned him several accolades, including the 2019 Big South Conference Player of the Year and selection to the 3A NCHSAA and Prep Baseball Report All-State teams.
At Campbell University, Harrill continued to shine. Over five years with the Camels, he played in 217 games and started 188, becoming one of the most decorated players in the program’s history! His junior and senior years were particularly remarkable, earning him multiple All-American honors and regional recognition. In 2023, as a junior, Harrill was named to the ABCA and Collegiate Baseball second-team All-America teams, was a Perfect Game second-team All-America selection, and was also recognized as the Big South Player of the Year. His senior season saw him become a finalist for prestigious awards like the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, while also being named First-Team All-CAA.
Off the field, Harrill demonstrated excellence in the classroom, earning multiple selections to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll and the CAA Scholar Athlete designation.
After his outstanding collegiate career, Harrill chose to stay involved with the Campbell program, taking on a graduate assistant role where he can mentor and guide the next generation of Camels. His legacy at Campbell, both as a player and now as a coach, continues to inspire future student-athletes.
