Tyler baseball journey has been nothing short of impressive. A standout in high school, he posted a .404 batting average and a 1.75 ERA on the mound, earning a First-Team 6A Southwest All-Region selection and finishing as the No. 4 catcher in Arizona, according to Perfect Game.
After high school, Tyler accepted a scholarship to play at Austin Peay State University, where he quickly made his mark by batting .308 in a shortened COVID-19 season. Following the season, Tyler returned to Arizona to train with Oakland A's pitcher Frankie Montas, gaining attention from TheAthletic.com for his work during the pandemic. In his sophomore year, Tyler maintained a solid .333 batting average over 21 games.
His next move took him to Queens University, where he finished his college career with a stellar .961 OPS and .988 fielding percentage while starting 49 games behind the plate for the Royals in his senior season.
After graduating, Tyler transitioned into coaching and is currently a graduate assistant at Campbell University, working with catchers and hitters. His experiences as both a player and coach have provided him with a deep understanding of the game, as he continues to make a significant impact in the world of baseball.
